Smoothie Recipes With Yogurt

One of the most satisfying types of smoothies I usually have are smoothie recipes with yogurt! Why? It's because these are so filling, yummy, and creamy, and I am also a sucker for dairy and yogurt, but there is no reason it has to be fatty or unhealthy! How can this be done? Easy! Non fat Greek yogurt my friends! This wondrous type of yogurt has the creaminess and thickness of full fat traditional European style varieties most people are familiar with, but it has none of the fat!

Plus you can also find these types of yogurts organic as well, like my favorite which is made by stonyfield under there "oikos" brand, this stuff is awesome! But one of the other benefits to using this style of yogurt is the fact that it has twice the protein of normal yogurt which makes it a fantastic additive to smoothies for those of you looking for effective meal replacements, filling snacks that you can feel good about, or simply need something with extra protein after working out rather then drinking a more traditional whey protein shake.

Now I love to make these fruit smoothies with both fresh and frozen fruit because it allows me to get the creaminess and thickness that the frozen produces provides, but the fresh produce allows me to blend the smoothie a bit easier, which is especially important for less powerful blenders, plus fresh fruit is naturally sweeter. So let's get to that smoothie recipe with yogurt, yum!
